PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting material having a critical temperature near the normal temperature and suitable for a superconductor motor, etc., by substituting copper of a group IIIa element - group IIa element - copper - oxygen superconducting material with zirconium. CONSTITUTION:The objective superconducting material has a composition of formula (X is Sc, Y, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb or Lu; M is Ca, Sr or Ba; 0.5<=x<=0.85). Since the superconducting material has a critical temperature near the normal temperature, it can be used by cooling with a general refrigerator without necessitating a refrigerant such as liquid helium or liquid nitrogen. Accordingly, the maintenance cost can be reduced. The superconducting material can be produced by mixing raw materials such as nitrate of group IIIa element of the periodic table, acetate of group IIa element and zirconium oxynitrate at ratios to attain the composition of formula, baking in oxygen atmosphere, forming the product, sintering in oxygen atmosphere and subjected the product to heat-treatment, etc. |
