A fitment inserter machine, such as a machine for inserting a spout (49) into the top opening (36) of a blow molded container (35) is disclosed. A conveyor (34) continually moves containers through the machine. A transfer arm and rotary placer (32) removes the lowermost spout from a vertical dispenser (48) and places the spout on a moving container. Jaws grasp the container finish while it is still moving and hold the finish while a pressing head (33) mounted on a flying table moves downwardly to press the spout into correct alignment with the container. |
