PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and to lower a price by using a printed board in the mechanical and electrical connection of an active matrix type liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:The printed board 5 is used in the mechanical and electrical connection of the active matrix type liquid crystal panel, and at least a part of a peripheral circuit 6 which drives the active matrix type liquid crystal panel is packaged. Also, a metallic substrate or a ceramic substrate can be used instead of the printed board 5. In such a way, no flexible substrate, etc., is required, and it is possible to realize the miniaturization, thinning, and low pricing of a liquid crystal display device. Also, since it is possible to make soldering work required at the time of connecting the flexible substrate unnecessary, no soldering defect is generated, and reliability for the liquid crystal display device can be improved. |
