This is a process and a device for evaluating variations arising in the transmission of optical measurement signals. According to the invention, the accidental variations in the optical measurement signals originating from polarimetric optical sensors 4 using remote fibre optic transmission links 3 are evaluated by means of optical reference signals due to an optical beam originating from a separate source which does not pass through the said polarimetric detectors 4, the said optical reference signals being separated from the measurement signals by an arrangement containing an element 6 for polarising by differences in wavelength, in time allocation or in modulating frequency. Applications: monitoring of the measurement of a physical magnitude such as the intensity of an electric field, or of a magnetic field, temperature, pressure etc. <IMAGE> |
