PURPOSE:To provide the titled sintered alloy having not only high magnetic permeability and low coercive force but also abrasion resistance and lubricity, obtained by containing P as well as Pb, Bi and Sb as lubricating components and a hard ceramic component in Fe. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-base sintered alloy contains, on a wt. basis, 0.05-1.5% P, 1-20% of one or more of Pb, Bi and Sb, 0.2-15% of one or more of hard ceramic components and, if necessary, 0.01-0.3% C or 0.1-5% of one or more of Ni and Cu, comprises the remainder of Fe and has a structure in which the aforementioned lubricating components and the hard ceramic components are uniformly and finely dispersed. This alloy has not only magnetic characteristics of high magnetic permeability and low coercive force but also excellent abrasion resistance and lubricity. Therefore, if it is used as the armature of an electromagnetic coupling apparatus requiring above mentioned characteristics, one developing excellent capacity over a long period of time can be obtained. |
