Improvements in and connected with feeding and transferring devices for cup-forming machines

In a cup-forming machine of the kind described in Specification 353,453, [Class 18, Boxes &c.], the segmental blanks 51 are fed from a magazine by a suction-feeding device 117 carried by a frame 47 secured to an oscillating arm 113. The feeding device carries the blanks to a glueing device comprising a tank 137 from which are raised brushes 144, 145, Fig. 17, which apply a straight line and a curved line of paste to the underside of the separated blank. The glued blank is transferred by a suction plate 172 on an oscillating arm to one of four mandrels 26 which are on a turret carried by a shaft driven intermittently by Geneva gearing. The glued blank is delivered to the mandrel in position A, and suction apertures 27 hold the blank while it is rotated and formed into a cup by a presser 216. The brushes 144,145, Fig. 17, are carried by a plate secured to a double plunger 142 which is raised on guide-rods 141 by means of a lever 147 and a link 146, the lever 147 being operated from a lever by a telescoping connecting member 157 fitted with a coiled spring 158. The plunger 142 works in a glue pot 138 formed at the bottom of the tank 137.
