PURPOSE:To enhance image density and to suppress fog by incorporating a compound releasing a development inhibitor against positive type development in a specified photosensitive photographic element at the time of its development processing. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive photographic element contains the compound releasing the development inhibitor against the positive type development. When the element is imagewisely exposed and undergoes development processing, photosensitive silver halide is developed at the exposed sites to produce the oxidation product of a developing agent, this product reacts with a compound capable of releasing a compound acting as an agent for dissolving metal salt particles or a promotor for dissolution physical development to dissolve the metal salt particles or to promote the dissolution physical development and to deposit a negative metal image on the physical development nuclei, thus permitting development to be finished in a short time from the start of the development because the development is accelerated in this system, maximum density to be enhanced and fog to be suppressed. |
