The control air distributor has for each of the motor's starting air valves a valve unit including a housed (1) and axially moveable valve glide (3) that is fixed with a curve follower (5) and has two opposing pilot control pistons (20, 21). The housing (1) has two inputs (12, 13) for pilot air, an input (14) for control air as well as an outlet (15) for control air for the starting air valve.The curve follower (5) engages with a generally concentric track (30) formed in the axially immobile cam disc's (2) one side face, the two radial limiting faces of the track constituting the guide curve (31, 32).The curve follower's (5) contact with the desired guide curve (31, 32) is achieved by pressurized air being led to the relevant pilot air input (12, 13), the air under influence of the appropriate pilot control piston (20, 21) offsetting the valve glider (3) and with this the curve follower (5).Through this it is made possible for the start of the motor in a given direction to take place relatively simply through airing the pilot air input corresponding to the desired direction of rotation.<IMAGE>
