PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of scattered powder smoke of developer and to simplify structure by imparting a retreating and driving device which retreats and separates a 2nd seal member for preventing the scattered powder smoke of developer and a 2nd seal member from their sealing positions. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with the device 8 which retreats and separates the seal member 6 for a lower developing device from a photosensitive body 3 when a upper developing device 1 is loaded onto its normal position. The retreating and driving device 8 is equipped with grooves 81 and 82 provided on the bottom of the developing device 1 and projections 83 and 84. The near end of the groove 81 is bending in the direction away from the photosensitive body. The groove 82 is bending in the direction away from the photosensitive body. Therefore, when the developing device 1 is inserted into the copying machine main body, the bending parts of the grooves 81 and 82 push a projection on a member 71 against a spring 72, and thereby the seal member 6 is retreated and separated from the photosensitive body 3. When the developing device 1 is further inserted, the seal member 4 comes into contact with the photosensitive body: therefore developer never the scattered powder smoke of the developer even if the machine is operated by removing the upstream developing device. |
