PURPOSE:To obtain the compatibility with an existing IC card by dividing a storage part of the IC card into records being information units, and adding the identification information to the respective records. CONSTITUTION:An existing IC card 12 is connected to a host computer 10 through an IC card reader/writer 11, and a data is transmitted/received to/from the host computer 10. On the other hand, an IC card 13 is provided with an information identification processing part 14 and identification information 4 is added to the head of a format of a record stored in a storage part 2. A storage part 1 of the IC card 12 is constituted of plural records 3a, and each record 3a is identified by a record number RNn. On the other hand, the storage part 2 of the IC card 13 is divided into storage areas 6-9, and each record 3 of each area is identified by a record number RN'm. The information identification processing part 14 manages a storage area of the storage part 1 of the existing IC card 12 by dividing it by the storage capacity which its own storage part 2 has. |
