<p>PURPOSE: To increase contrast and to improve image quality by immersing a transparent substrate with a polymer film formed on a transparent electrode in a dye soln., dyeing the polymer film under voltage impressed on the electrode and repeating these processes. CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode 202 of indium oxide or tin oxide having a prescribed pattern is formed on a transparent substrate 201 of glass or plastic and a polymer film is formed on the electrode 202 by electrolytic polymn. The substrate 201 with the polymer film formed on the electrode 202 is immersed in a dye soln. and the polymer film is dyed under voltage impressed between the electrode 202 and a counter electrode. A polymer film is formed on other transparent electrode in the same way and it is dyed under voltage. These processes are repeated to form the objective color filter having dyed layers 205, 209, 211 having one or more colors in a prescribed color pattern. When this color filter is used, the contrast of a liq. crystal panel is increased and image quality is improved.</p> |
