PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of a gasket by detecting the degree of inclination of the hole part of a die housing a body to be pressed for the direction in which pressurizing force is acted thereon and automatically controlling the die so that it is always made parallel to upper and lower punches on the basis of the detected result. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 12 is interposed to the hole part 4 of a die 5 and a body 3 to be pressed is set. Then a lower punch 6 is raised by actuating a pressurization cylinder to the raising direction. In this case, whether a uniform gap exists between an upper punch 2 and the lower punch 6 in the upper and lower faces of the die 5 is detected by gap sensors 71-74 set in four parts up and down. Respective parallel controlling cylinders 81-84 positioned to the same radiation directions are actuated so that detected values which are mutually different in a phase at 180 deg. and the opposite values are compared and made equal respectively and diamond is synthesized while properly controlling the attitude of the die 5 and punches 2, 6.
