PURPOSE:To preclude electrostatic recharging caused at the time of separation by blowing an air flow and separating toner from carriers while applying a voltage between a sleeve which has a developer consisting of toner and carriers stuck on its surface and an opposite electrode. CONSTITUTION:The developer consisting of the toner 4 and carriers 5 is stuck on the surface of the sleeve 12 which contains a magnetic roller 11 and the electrode 4 is provided opposite the surface of the sleeve 12. Then when the voltage is applied between the sleeve 12 and electrode 14, Coulom's force operates between the both and force for movement toward the electrode 14 operates on the toner 4 on a carrier 5. In this state, when the air flow 8 is blown between the sleeve 12 and opposite electrode 14, the toner 4 can be separated from the carrier 5 at low voltage. Consequently, the reelectrification which is caused at the time of the separation of the toner can be precluded. |
