The invention relates to a combined radial and thrust rolling bearing which comprises a race (1) which has a running surface (2) bounded at one of its ends by a flange (8), for cylindrical rolling elements (3) which accept the radial loading, and on its end face (5) adjacent to the flange (8), a rolling-element ring (7) accepting the axial loading, a relief (12) being provided between the running surface (2) and the flange (8). The bearing is provided with means for the metrological detection of the axial force without additional installation space being required and without a disadvantageous effect on the rigidity and bearing capacity of the rolling bearing by virtue of the fact that at least one strain gauge (4) is attached to the wall of the relief (12) and that at least part of the width of the area of the end face (5) over which the rolling-element ring (7) rolls overlaps radially with the projection of the relief (12) and the side face (10) of the flange (8).
