The textile material of the invention is a lace-based elastic material. It is made up of an elastic lace, adhesively bonded point by point, on a textile support whose elasticity in all directions is identical with or lower than that of the lace. This material, for example made of polyamide/elasthane in the case of the lace and of polyester/elasthane in the case of the support, is well suited for the manufacture of swimming costumes.
