Method for smoking food products. The invention consists in heating, in a container, sawdust until the latter is consumed, releasing a smoke which impregnates the foods during cooking. The container which permits the application is made from cast iron or another material and is composed of a low part at the bottom of which rest several rows of studs and of a lid making it possible to retain the smoke during cooking. <IMAGE>
