PURPOSE:To form a colored zirconia-based sintered body having high strength and practically usable as a spike for a snow tire by combining metastable tetragonal ZrO2 with a coloring component such as Cr2O3 or NiO. CONSTITUTION:This sintered body consists of 97-99.9wt.% ZrO2 contg. 1.5-5mol.% Y2O3 and/or 5-30mol.% CeO2 and 0.1-3wt.% one or more among Cr2O3, NiO, Fe3O4, V2O5 and TiO2. The specific gravity of the sintered body is >=98.5% of the theoretical specific gravity calculated from the compsn. |
