PURPOSE:To form an image as a thickened image and a contour image in the center part of an original and to save the consumption quantity of toner by detecting the center part of a book original and using a contour unit only in this part. CONSTITUTION:When a sensor installed on an original cover detects that the original is a book original in a state where a CPU 200 detects that the contour unit 8a is fitted with the input of the code peculiar to the unit 8a, the CPU 200 sets a incorporated timer corresponding to the center part of the original and a necessary areas holding the center part between them. Based on the setting, the unit 8a is used in the center part of the original and the contour line is formed in the center part of the book original, which becomes the thickened image because the reflected light is a little. Then, the wasteful use of the toner can be evaded and the consumption quantity of the toner can be saved. |
