A post for forming fences of the type comprising a mechanically strong section with one T-shaped part the wing of which is positioned on the side of the fixing plane of the netting or fencing wires. This wing 4 carries, opposite the core 3 of the T, an axial T- shaped ridge 6, the height of the core 7 of the ridge 6 being of the same order of size as the diameter of the wires 8 used. The notches for fixing the wires 9 are formed by a split 10 formed in the ridge 6 obliquely in relation to its axis. The invention ensures simple, quick and efficient fixing of fencing units onto posts without weakening the latter. <IMAGE>
