A nozzle for vacuum cleaners of the portable type and of the cylinder type. To compensate the forces opposing the flat position of the base plate during a change in movement of the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner, this nozzle comprises a connector 2 conducting the intake air from the intake opening formed in the base plate 3 to the swivelling pipework 5, which allows a vertical movement and a tilting movement around a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis of the base plate 3. The base plate 3 is also guided into the body of the nozzle 1 on its narrow sides using at least one swivel pin 4 which can be moved in a respective vertical groove 8. <IMAGE>
