<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a recording fluid containing a dye of a specified formula, which is excellent in all of water resistance, light resistance, nonblurring property, fixability on a recording material, recording characteristics, storage stability, etc., and enables recording of good printing quality on, especially, plain paper. CONSTITUTION:A recording fluid suited for an ink jet recording system comprises at least one dye of formula I as a recording agent. In the formula, Q<1> and Q<2> are each a phenyl which may be substituted with at least one substituent selected from among OH, a sulfonic acid group, an alkyl, H, a halogen, COOH, an alkoxyl, a phosphoric acid group and -NR1R2 (wherein R1 and R2 are each H, hydroxyalkyl or acetyl) and does not contain two or more amino groups, m and n are each 0 or 1, and M is an alkali metal, ammonium or an organic amine. Examples of said dyes of formula I include dyes of formulas II and III. A recording fluid containing said dye can satisfy many properties desirable for an ink jet recording fluid, and enables recording of good printing quality on plain paper as well as on a special ink jet recording paper.</p> |
