<p>PURPOSE: To easily attach a multilayer stiffening member to a sheet metal part to be reinforced and to dispense with the additional work such as the removement of a protective foil or the like, by performing a first heat treatment until a surface of the stiffening member becomes sticky, and performing a second heat treatment until all layers including a thermosetting resin of the stiffening member are hardened. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of slits 5 of a foil 4 are arranged in rows extended in parallel with each other, and they are staggered with each other between the adjacent rows. When the stiffening member 1 is mounted on a sheet metal part to be reinforced, the foil side of the stiffening member is passed through along an infrared ray heater, so that the foil 4 is shrinked, the shape of the foil is changed into a network structure, and the slits 5 are opened to form the elliptic opening parts 6. Whereby most part of the sticky surface of an adhesive layer 3 is exposed, so that the stiffening member 1 can be fixed only by lightly pressing the same to the sheet metal part to be reinforced. Further the foil 4 is totally shrinked so that an edge part 8 along the edge part of the adhesive resin layer 3 is completely opened. Whereby a main body member 1 can be easily adhered to a part of the panel, to be reinforced before the final heating treatment.</p> |
