This invention relates to a circuit that automatically stops the driving of a deck immediately after completion of the running of a tape in a deck of a tape recorder to minimize tape damage and strain to the deck. The stop of a ring magnet (3) that rotates following the tape running activates the automatic stop circuit to stop the driving of the deck such that the completion of tape running results in immediate stop of the deck operation.
