The present piston turbine is a further development of the slide-piston rotary compressor described in Laid-Open Specification DE 3714791 A1 and of the slide-piston internal-combustion engine already mentioned therein. The compressed gases (air) are passed via the outlet branch into a combustion chamber or antechamber or the like that can be closed at the front and rear by closure devices. When the piston passes the chamber outlet, the compressed gas is ignited, or injected if using the diesel principle. The gas then propels the piston up to about 320 degrees around the shaft to the turbine outlet, where it escapes, or sucks in fresh gas when the piston rotates further. However, it is more expedient to have two turbines working on each shaft, with one of the turbines functioning only as a compressor, and the other only as a combustion turbine. Both turbines are connected to one another correspondingly by the combustion chamber. Then two combustions of about 320@ each occur during a rotation of the piston, i.e. smoothly for the turbines and without great loads on the bearings.
