PURPOSE: To provide an unit for effectively executing the card service accompanying the input, by immediately responsing the request of transmission of the identification number data from an external unit when the identification number data is inputted. CONSTITUTION: When a command interpreting module 6 of an identification number input unit 1 receives the command through a data transmission module 5 of the unit 1, the identification number data in a data storing memory 4 is eliminated, and the self-diagnosis of the unit 1 is started. The existence or absence of abnormality is transmitted as the result of the diagnosis. When the abnormality exists, the unit 1 is exchanged. When the abnormality is not found, the unit 1 is switched to a mode for inputting the identification number, and the output for accelerating the input of the identification number is sent to an output unit 2. Then the identification number is inputted from an input unit 3. The inputted identification number data is once stored in a data storing memory 4 to be prepared for the request of transmission of the identification number data from a card utilizing unit. |
