PURPOSE:To make it possible to bring a recording paper into close contact with a platen roller, by feeding the recording paper forward or backward in the condition where a pressing roller on the downstream side is separated from the platen roller whereas a pressing roller on the upstream side is pressed against the platen roller. CONSTITUTION:At the time of printing, pressing rollers 50, 50 are pressed against a platen roller 25, whereby a recording paper 23 can be maintained in close contact with the platen roller 25 without slipping on the roller 25. At non-printing time, the platen roller 25 and the pressing roller 50 are separated from each other, so that the denting on the surface of the platen roller 50 or the like is not generated. Since printing is conducted when the paper 23 is fed backward, levitation of the paper generated on the platen roller 25 is eliminated when the paper is fed forward. When the paper 23 is fed forward, the levitation of the paper on the platen roller 25 is removed by an appropriate tension generated by a paper-discharging shaft 28 rotating for discharging paper at a speed slightly higher than the platen roller 25. |
