PURPOSE:To obtain glass molded product of high shape precision without shrinkage in drying and sintering of gel by drying and sintering a gel of a desired shape under omnidirectional compression in the production of formed glass products by the sol-gel method. CONSTITUTION:One or more metal alkoxides are hydrolyzed and a desired ceramic powder is dispersed in the hydrolysis mixture to form a sol. Then, the sol is converted into a gel, the gel is dried and sintered to give a molded glass product. At this time, the sol is cast into a mold of a desired shape, converted into a gel, then the gel is released from the mold, and dried and sintered under omnidirectional compression. |
