HIGH-VOLTAGE SWITCH

A high-voltage switch is particularly useful as ignition voltage distributor for applying the ignition voltage to ignition plugs (ZK) of an internal combustion engine. It has several optoelectronic semiconductor elements (5) connected in cascade (1) which are actuated or switched by light radiation. High-voltages can thus be precisely switched, a galvanic separation being achieved between control circuit and high-voltage circuit. The control circuit can be operated with a low voltage, so that it can be used in a highly reliable manner with electronic ignition installations.
