A tubular valve 118 is guided on a stem and seat member 112 to control fuel flow through a plurality outlets leading from a circular recess (272, Figs 5 and 6) in the seat (262). A pole plece 117 of a coil 106 is located on the stem and determines the valve lift. The seat outlets deliver to passages 210 receiving air under pressure from a manifold 190 connected to a compressor (14, Fig 1). The fuel and air are discharged through lines 80, 84 to respective i.c. engine air intakes (26....32, Fig 1). <IMAGE>
