<p>Device making compulsary the wearing of a helmet and comprising a proximity sensor (A), a relay (B) normally energized when the proximity sensor (A) emits a signal, a double effect contactor (C) mounted in parallel on the contacts (7, 8) of the relay (B) and arranged to detect on the one hand the presence of the user and on the other hand the position of the machine, and reflecting means (D) arranged on the helmet (2) in order to cooperate with the proximity sensor (A).
