Fuel-metering device for a diesel internal combustion engine with an electronic control unit, to which are supplied signals from a lambda-probe which is located in the exhaust pipe. The signals supplied by the lambda-probe serve to place an upward limit on supply of fuel to the internal combustion engine e.g. to direct it in accordance with individual cylinder's requirements. An average is computed on the basis of several probe-produced signals which serves as a threshold, and when the signals from the probe exceed this threshold, the amount of fuel supplied to the cylinders is influenced in such a way that the output signal from the lambda-probe no longer exceeds said threshold. The device serves to monitor conventional flow governors and can also be used as a device for emergency operation.
|
