Nail for fixing proximal femoral fractures

The invention relates to a nail for fixing proximal femoral fractures with a hollow, longitudinally slotted first nail member extending into the femur, and with a second nail member extending into the femoral neck as a force carrier. The object on which the invention is based is to design the abovementioned nail in such a way that the load-bearing capacity at least of its force arm and the reliability of the anchorage thereof on the longitudinal nail are increased and that the vertical nail member can be made thicker. The solution is characterised in that the force carrier can be fastened in the upper region of the first nail member by means of an auxiliary element in such a way that the loads transmitted on to the first nail member are introduced in an axially distributed manner and that there is a securing means for the second nail member.
