A stainless-steel cooking vessel having an aluminium plate which receives a tubular heating element and is attached to the bottom face of the cooking vessel by a friction-welding process. The technical problem is to provide a cooking vessel which ensures a high heat transmission. In addition, the cooking vessel should be able to be produced cost-effectively. The aluminium plate (3) has a groove (4) which is integrally formed on by extrusion and into which the tubular heating body (6) is pressed. <IMAGE>
