The apparatus for the cutting to size and joining together of strip material of the rubber-coated cord-fabric type contains a device for the movement and orientation of the cut-off pieces of strip material (14), which has an inclined table and a platform (24), located behind the latter, with a stop for the front edge of the cut-off piece of strip material, the said platform (24) being rotatable about two horizontal axes. The inclined table and the platform (24) are provided with perforations which are connected to a compressed-air source (29). There is a device (6) for joining together the cut-off pieces of strip material (14), which contains a resilient button (33) for holding the edge of the cut-off piece of strip material (14) by its side edge and a movable stop (35) located behind the button (33) and intended for this side edge. The resilient button (33) has a stop for the opposite side edge of the preceding cut-off piece, the said stop being lower than the movable stop (35). Such an apparatus for the cutting to size and joining together of the strip material is reliable in operation and has a high capacity.
