PURPOSE:To efficiently in a short time inspect the soundness of many drum cans packed with radioactive waste by detecting infrared rays radiated from the drum can which is heated uniformly by high frequency induction heating. CONSTITUTION:When a drum can 1 is set onto a turntable 2, its surface is heated uniformly by a high frequency induction heating means. Information of a temperature difference of the surface of the drum can 1 generated by a difference of a heat propagation speed immediately after heating is measured as a two-dimensional video signal by an infrared-ray camera 3 and a thermography device 6. By keeping pace therewith, a video signal for showing a state of the outside surface of the drum can 1 is obtained by a visible camera 4 and a camera unit 7. The video signal which is obtained by the device 6 and the camera 4 is worked in an image processor 8 in order to extract the information related to soundness of the drum can 1, and stored in a frame memory 9. Subsequently, based on an image data stored in the memory 9, the soundness of the drum can is decided by a CPU 10. In such a case, it is also possible to display the image data of the memory 9 on a CRT 12 for visibility. |
