<p>PURPOSE:To make the inertia of a magnetic tape small and to decrease the directional changes of the magnetic tape by arranging suitably a supply side vacuum colum, a take-up side vacuum column, etc., located on the right side of a supply reel and a take-up reel and arranged so that their opening ends are in a lower direction. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is equipped with a reel fitting mechanism 42 to fit a take-up reel 22 and a supply reel 21 so that the take-up reel 22 is lower, a supply side vacuum colum 25 and a take-up side vacuum colum located on the right side of the reel fitting mechanism 42 and whose opening ends are made to face the lower direction. The titled device is also equipped with a magnetic head 26 and a capstan 23 provided between the two colums 24 and 25 and automatic threading mechanism 31 and 44 provided between the magnetic head and the take-up reel 22. Thus, there are very few friction sources on the magnetic tape to enter the vacuum colum 24 directly from the capstan 23, the inertia becomes only the mass of the magnetic tape in the vacuum columns, contact with the magnetic head is good and a stable high-speed travel can be obtained.</p> |
