PURPOSE:To prevent exhaust gas temperature from excessively rising due to excessively delayed angle by providing a learning means for storing a maximum delay angle amount of an ignition timing correction means for correcting the ignition timing when knocking is detected and by forbidding the renewal and storage of the maximum delay angle at the time of transient operation. CONSTITUTION:A knocking control device determines an ignition timing correction amount with an ignition timing correction means MB according to the result of detecting the knocking occurred in an engine MA to control the ignition timing. In this case, a correction amount learning means MC is provided for storing a maximum delay angle of the ignition timing correction amount. An initial value setting means MD is also provided for setting an initial value of the ignition timing correction amount based on the maximum delay angle amount to the ignition timing correction means MB when the ignition timing correction means MB starts control of the ignition timing. Further, a renewal forbidding means MF is provided for forbidding the renewal of the memory of the maximum delay angle amount by the correction amount learning means MC at the time a transient operation period detection means ME detects the transient operation period of the engine MA. |
