摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the probability of focusing on an object which should be photographed by selecting algorithm for deciding defocusing quantity for driving a lens from the defocusing quantities concerning plural areas of a photographed image plane according to an object distance. CONSTITUTION:An object distance information output means 1 outputs the information concerning the distance from a photographic lens 11 to the object and a defocusing quantity calculation means 2 calculates the defocusing quantities concerning plural areas of the photographed image plane. A defocusing quantity decision means 3 decides one defocusing quantity based on the defocusing quantity obtained in the defocusing quantity calculation means 2. The defocusing quantity decision means 3 provides plural algorithms for deciding the defocusing quantity, which are selected according to the object distance obtained in the object distance output means 1 by a selection means 4. Thus, the algorithm for deciding the defocusing quantity suitable for the object distance can be utilized and the probability of focusing on the object which should be photographed is raised.
