PURPOSE: To exactly decide the frequency transmission characteristics of a linear or almost linear signal processing system for an arbitrary input waveform by calculating the vector sum of input patterns, calculating frequency area conversion, and calculating a correction coefficient vector. CONSTITUTION: A data acquiring system(DAS) 10 incorporates a device necessitating calibration, and the response of the DAS 10 is calibrated for the frequency transmission function H(ω). Patterns are inputted one by one each time from a Walsh pattern generator to the DAS 10, and each response yk (t) and a value ak , for weighting are stored in a memory. Then, the Fourier transformation of the added responses of the DAS 10 is calculated. The sum of the Fourier transformation of the input patterns calibrates one part of a rate used for deciding the frequency transmission function. Therefore, the rate of the Fourier transformation of the sum of the response signals to the Fourier transformation of the sum of the input signals to the DAS 10 is calculated so that the frequency transmission function H(ω) can be obtained.
