A missile container 7 is aligned in a vertical launching module comprising a lower plate 2 for the bearing of the lower structure 10 of the container and an upper plate for guiding and maintaining the upper structure of the container. The lower structure 10 rests in the manner of a ball joint on the frustoconical edge 22 of the orifice 16 of the lower plate 22 by means of a surface 20 in the form of a sector of a sphere machined in the structure 10, whilst the upper structure comprising portions in the form of a sector of a sphere is held by ball-socket engagement in the orifice of the upper plate of the module. This double ball-socket positioning affords an exact and true alignment of the container in the module. <IMAGE>
