PURPOSE: To efficiently perform precise repairing grinding by providing a detection rod for detecting the water surface at the upper portion of a groove that is provided along a long object to be ground. CONSTITUTION: A frame 2 is adjusted horizontally over the upper surface of a long object R to be ground, a grinding table 5 traveling on the frame 2 is fixed, and a detection rod 27 is guided on the water surface 29 of a level groove 26. Then, the detection rod 27 is lowered by rotating an up/down move screw 28, and the height of a grinder 17 is set at a position where the detection rod 27 touches the water surface 29. Then, while the grinder 17 is being rotated, the grinding table 5 is moved along the object R to be ground while grinding an upper surface. |
