The objective of this invention is to provide a damper assembly for an air dispensing device to reduce low frequency noise and turbulent flow without producing an excessive pressure drop. The assembly comprises a housing (12), a damper (20) and a porous screen (30). The housing has an inlet, an outlet and an air passage between them. The damper has a curved blade (22) which is pivoted on a rod (21) crossing the passage. And the damper interacts with the inlet to control the air passing through the passage. The screen is attached to the blade and extends into the passage when the blade is at its opening position.
