<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible use a sheet separating device for both kinds of sheets having high and lower rigidities by providing a pawl member and an inclined member, movably in the sheet stacking direction, relative to a wall member. CONSTITUTION:When a lever member 16 is rotated in one direction, a pawl member 12 abuts against the rear surface of a wall 10 so that the lower surface of a pawl member is positioned below the top end of the lower surface of the wall 10. Further, an inclined member 13 is positioned therefore so that the wall 10 is projected upward from the inclined surface of the member 13. When a feed roller 11 is rotated in this condition, sheets are buckled so that only one of them comes over the pawl member 12, and is therefore moved forward. When the lever 16 is rotated in the other direction, the pawl member 12 is positioned upward being slightly separated from the top end of the wall 10 so that the inclined surface of the inclined member 13 is positioned flush with or slightly higher than the top end of the wall 10. In this condition, when the feed roller 11 is rotated after sheets are stored in a paper receiver 16, the uppermost sheet coming over the top end of a high friction member 14 is fed forward with low friction.</p> |
