This invention is about an unloader for transferring bulk material such as rice or coal from a vertical screw conveyor (10) to a horizontal belt conveyor (11). The loader comprises a rotary feed screw located in a feed screw casing (32) parallel to a horizontal belt conveyor. The casing has a discharge opening (33) on its circumference facing the belt conveyor. An inlet opening of the unloader introduces the material perpendicularly to the feed screw. The inlet opening is pivoted relative to a vertical screw conveyor for movement about an axis passing through the inlet opening.
