PURPOSE: To inspect a defective magnetic card off-line, to eliminate the need for communication cost, and to make the inspection fast by providing a detachable storage medium with a number lists of cards. CONSTITUTION: This number inspecting device 6 consists of a communication means 1, a number retrieval means 2, a display means 5, a storage device 3, and the storage medium 4 which is attachable to and detachable from the storage device 3. A magnetic card reader 7 reads the number of a magnetic card out and sends the number of the card to the number inspecting device 6 through a 2nd communication means 8. The number inspecting device 6 receives the number of the card through the communication means 1 and the number retrieval means 2 places the storage device 3 in operation to retrieves the number list of cards recorded on the detachable storage medium 4 and displays the result by a display means 5. Consequently, information on the number of the card is received through the communication means 1 and the number can be inspected off-line. |
