A swivel device for mounting a spotlight comprises vertical means for adjustable rotation of the spotlight around a vertical axis over a maximum arc of more than 360 DEG without twisting damage to electrical wires passing through an interior portion of the swivel device, and horizontal means for adjustable rotation of the spotlight around a horizontal axis. The swivel device is extremely compact and very neat and simple in appearance.
