A multistation yarn winder comprises a pair of adjacent frames (11,21) movable bodily and independently on parallel tracks (3,7), each frame carrying horizontally-projecting spindles (15,25) spaced equally apart in respective columns, and with the spindles horijantally paired as between columns. A frame (31) carrying threading arms (51) is between the spindle frames (11,21), and is movable pref. along parallel guides (37), the arms (51) being pivotal one between each pair of spindles (15,25) which are motor-driven. Pref. the arms (51) carry yarn guides moved by the arms to feed yarn to one or other of the paired spindles (15,25) for continuous winding.
