<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of the wrong fitting of a bin in a sorter in which the bin for storing paper can be attached and detached to and from the body of the sorter, by causing a sensor to send out a bin detection signal only when the bin is properly inserted into the sorter body. CONSTITUTION:A bin 1 is provided with ribs 2 extending in the direction of intake of paper and with engaging elements 3 on both the sides of the inserted lower part of the bin. A bin detecting hole 4 is provided in one engaging element 3. A block 5 for fitting the bin 1 is provided with inserting openings 6 at plural levels and with spring housing openings 5a behind the inserting openings. The block 5 is also provided with a detecting light passage 7 which extends through the block almost perpendicularly to the inserting openings 6. Springs 8 are provided in the housing openins 5a. Light interceptors 9 are provided at the tips of the springs 8. Bin sensor elements 10 are installed on the top and bottom of the block 5 so that the sensor elements face each other across the detecting light passage 7. As a result, the light-receiving bin sensor element 10b can receive light from the light-emitting bin sensor element 10a only when the bin 1 is properly inserted into the block 5.</p> |
