A method for transforming 5'-xanthylic acid to 5'-guanylic acid by xanthylate aminase is presented. Thus, 300ml seed culture broth of MW-6648 was inoculated in 5 liter 5'-xanthylic acid culture broth contg. 400g dextrose, 8g phosphoric acid, 7g KOH, 4g MgSO4.7H2O, 10mg pantothenic acid, 10mg thiamin.HCl, 20mg guanine, and 500ml H2O and cultured at 30-35≦̸C, pH 6.8-7.2, 0.5-1.0 vvm, and 600rpm for 18hr followed by addition of a medium and cultured again for 5-6 hr to give 67.2g 5'-guanylic acid.
