PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of quality of a cast slab caused by breakage of a nozzle, crack on the cast slab, etc., by arranging a driving device for giving pulsation to block molds passing through near tip part of the nozzle inserted into mold space. CONSTITUTION:The mold space 3 is formed by arranging caterpillar type molds 2 wound around a driving roll 6 and an idle roll 7, which are mutually apart at the prescribed distance, by connecting the multiple block molds 1 to both sides of upper and lower parts, so that the mutual facing faces are shifted to the same direction. Then, the nozzle 5 for a tundish 4 arranging at inlet side thereof is inserted into the mold space 3 with the necessary gap, and the pulsation is given to the block mold 1 passing through near the tip part of the nozzle 5 with the driving device 8. By this pulsation, solidified shell formed at the tip part of the nozzle 5 and the solidified shell at rear end part of the cast slab are prevented from connecting with them or even if temporarily they are connected with, they can be immediately cut off. Therefore, the deterioration of the quality of the cast slab caused by damage of the nozzle, cutting of the cast slab, etc., is prevented. |
